Downing Enterprise held its 2018 round of competitions in the Howard Theatre on Thursday 15th of March. Six teams of graduate and undergraduate students pitched their respective business plans to an audience of Downing Enterprise Board members, students from Downing and other colleges.

Business ideas ranged from a platform using artificial intelligence algorithms to study satellite images and predict production of agricultural waste, to an innovative new board game - ideas pitched by Michael Albergo and Robert Kunzmann which won first and second prize respectively. On the whole, the Board was extremely impressed by the quality of candidates this year, and discussions are underway to invite teams back for a second pitch in London for a formal investment round and a more serious sum of money.

We hope to see the teams join the ranks of our illustrious Downing Enterprise alumni which includes: The Tab, Lungfish Dive Systems, WashCycle laundry, and many others.

Thanks to all the teams who submitted their ideas, we're very much looking forward to another great round next year!
