An online tool, Semantic Scholar, built by the non-profit Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence in Seattle, Washington parsed 2.5 million articles to calculate a score which reflected each author's influence in the field of neuroscience in the modern era. 

 

Downing congratulates Professor Trevor Robbins who was ranked fourth most influential brain scientist, just behind colleagues at University College London and Washington University in St Louis.  On hearing the news, he suggested, "There must be a bug in their computer program!"
