Applications for 2026 are now open!

We review applications as they come in, so applying early gives you the best chance to secure your spot. Once all spaces are filled, applications will close.

The Downing College International Programme is a highly competitive, selective course. We only admit students who have shown us that they have the academic ability and potential to deal with the challenging nature of the curriculum.

Our selection process comprises both a written examination and a spoken interview with a member of the College team. Both of these are administered online, so there is no need to travel to Cambridge during the application process.

Step-by-step process

Submit application form 

Apply now for the Downing College International Programme.

Complete the online form, including academic details, parent/guardian information, and a short personal statement.

Interview

A 10-minute online interview with a Cambridge academic tutor to discuss subject interests and English proficiency.

Offers

Successful candidates receive an unconditional offer via email, with a payment link. Fees must be paid within 4 weeks to confirm your place.

 

Important Notes

  • Application Fee: £200 application fee is required which is deductable from the final programme fee.
  • English Proficiency: Students should be able to discuss academic topics with good English proficiency.
  • Updates: Once accepted, students will receive regular communications, travel offers, and preparation details.
