New charity partners for Downing

Downing College is delighted to announce it has partnered with Cambridgeshire-based charities Blue Smile and Centre 33 for the 2024/25 academic year.

Blue Smile is a mental health charity that provides specialist counselling and arts-based therapy to schools across the county. Centre 33 provides free and confidential support to young people up to the age of 25 in the areas of mental health, sexual health, housing, money and benefits.

Representatives of the two charities were invited to join the College community at the annual fireworks display, where they raised £70 in donations.

“I am delighted that Downing has made partnerships with Centre 33 and Blue Smile and I look forward to working with them in the coming year. These partnerships form an important part of Downing’s civic commitment to engage with and support people and organisations in Cambridge and Cambridgeshire,” said Professor Graham Virgo, Master of Downing.
