Downing Arts

Downing Arts is the combination, collaboration, and contemplation of Drama, Music, the Visual Arts, and Literary activities across the College – bringing together students, Fellows, staff, and the wider community to participate, observe, and enjoy a richly stimulating cultural environment.

With some of the best facilities of all the Cambridge colleges, everyone is encouraged to make use of the many performance and engagement spaces available in Downing, whether your interests lie in staging a musical dramatic production in the Howard Theatre, organising an evening of poetry and music in the middle of an exhibition in the Heong Gallery, or throwing paint around on a giant canvas outside!

With dedicated directors of drama and music, a professional gallery curator, and our fantastic English department, students at Downing are privileged to have available the very best in guidance, supervision, and expertise, allowing them to express themselves in cultural realms they may never have encountered before.
