Stephen Bennett is an award-winning television scriptwriter, theatre practitioner and musician. He has taught and directed at the universities of Yale and Carnegie Mellon in the US, The Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester, Shakespeare’s Globe and The Royal National Theatre in the UK. As a television writer he contributed many episodes to shows like “Where The Heart Is”, “Born and Bred”, “Holby City” and “The Royal” and has won numerous accolades including ‘Best Episode’ at the National Soap Awards and two BAFTAs as a member of both the “Coronation Street” and “Emmerdale” writing teams. He learned a lot about tragedy and comedy while playing football against the Brazilian national team.
